As Mediterraneans stop following their diet, obesity creeps in

The economical part of the problem fascinates me: meat and sugar are now considered "cheap", and historically "cheap peasant foods" are now expensive. As a world market, we are abandoning the healthy for the less expensive fast foods. What is expensive and "cheap" have traded places.
